As s Chelsea fan I respect Simeones style. People saying he was a coward and it would never worked. It basically almost worked and Chelsea had to pull out the win. It was a smart move playing at home away from home even if there are no fans it makes a big difference. Simeone knew that Chelsea is weaker in the final 3rd and he wanted to use that to his advantage he wanted a 0-0 at home with no away goals to go all out in the second leg and score. It looks stupid now because it didn't work obviously but it was frustrating Chelsea and took them out of their rythym. So to say it was a dumb move is non sense.
Glad to see Tuchel adapting this well at Chelsea. I don't think anyone saw it coming!

As much as everyone is loving to praise Tuchel rn Ima give you guys a reality check even as a Chelsea fan. His games haven’t been amazing to watch v boring but if it gets win it’s gets wins. The wins aren’t convincing at all tho. A wonder goal by Giroud that I called before the match that it wud be 1-0 Giroud goal purely Bcuz he’s world class n underrated af. Secondly, Atletico r in a really really bad form rn. They played 6-3-1 ffs😂😂😂. I WANT US TO PLAY A GOOD TEAM FFS 🤦🏽♂️

People appreciating tuchel for tactics but all he was looking for was a nice counter attack! U see possession stats then you will say chelsea "dominated" but I watched the match, they never looked threatening! As far as for Simeone he didn't have recognised wingbacks for his system to work(lodi is still not comfortable as LWB). So you have pacy forwards like mount, werner and CHO in counter which will be very easy for them! Simeone had to be defensive because seeing the crisis! Lemar and Llorente were playing out of position and we should appreciate how lemar kept CHO quite! Next will be entertaining and I see Atletico going through from this tie comfortably

Back 6 😳 would be so frustrating as a chelsea player. Yeah you can move the ball around the back and up to the midfield, but breaking through that back line is tough. Credit to Tuchil though for the game plan and also shoutout Giroud for putting on that world class finish when it was needed

Simeone pulled a Guardiola in the UCL by overthinking. Was his game to lose by playing so defensive and negative. Felix Was literally defending all game. Atleti play how they have been playing in la liga and they win that game easy.
I hate the fact that people say that Chelsea deserved to win. The tactics that atletico used worked perfectly, but their attackers couldn't convert chances into goals, or even into threats on goal, and one defender made a crucial mistake allowing giroud to score a goal. The fact that atletico played very defensively doesn't mean that they don't deserve to win, it's just a very effective tactic against a team like Chelsea that would have worked if all their players actually played good.

I'm a Chelsea fan and I rate Tuchel so much, but it was a dead game because it wasn't a Tuchel tactical masterclass it was just and Athletico tactic flop.
