Liverpool trained in Kirkby on Monday afternoon ahead of their trip to Madrid to face Diego Simeone’s Atletico in the Champions League, with Curtis Jones back among his team-mates having missed the 5-0 win over Watford with a slight injury.
Jurgen Klopp later confirmed, however, that Jones would not be travelling to Madrid as he is not quite ready to feature yet, and will instead stay on Merseyside to recover fully ahead of the weekend trip to Manchester United.
Thiago Alcantara was still missing with the calf problem he sustained against Crystal Palace exactly a month ago, but all the other players expected to be there appeared to be, as Matt Addison reports.
