While I apricate the video solely on atletico, we should not judge atleti on this ONE GAME we never talked about the brillant play when they beat barca or the several times they played openly in la liga, simione knows how to adjust his team to his opponent, playing openly vs porto would of made atleti lose this game. I was at that match when Atlétí beat Madrid 3-7. They can put the ball in the net, but they are much better playing negative!! Offense can win games, defense wins championships. Winning 1-0 gives you the same points as winning 7-3.
Would everyone be happier if they always play the ball to the keeper, and then watch him punt it down field?

As an Atletico Madrid fan I must say I'm bored of it, yeah winning is nice… By any means necessary whooo… but having seen my team concede a goal and be powerless to equalize. Even against the weakest teams we struggle to score goals because we're so defensive it's annoying. Watching llorente, Félix, & Correa drop form is heart breaking. I'm tired of it

No, but this current team has too much quality than his previous sides who played the Simeone way to keep playing this way, deffo could do with a change an attacking manager who can get the best out of the attacking players, cuz clearly Simeone can't coach that side of the game
I’ll tell you how you do that. Drop the half’s to 40 mins, but every time the ball is out of play, the clock is stopped. No added on time, no letting the refs guess, no time wasting. You’ll get 80 minutes of ball in play football. Not 50 mins of play and 40 mins of theatrics ..

Considering the players they have now, it def is a very defensive style that isn’t as pleasing to the eye. But you can’t really blame them since this style has brought results. Simeone has 2 la ligas, 2 time ucl runner up , copa del rey, Spanish super cup, 2 Uefa super cups, and 2 Europa league titles to his name. For a team competing with the Messi’s Ronaldo’s Real Madrids and Barcelonas of the world, that really impressive.

I dont understand this pundits' obsession to "how football should be played". There are more than one way to play football and I respect all styles of play.
They find Athletico style boring because they are defensively sound and the play with emotions. Football is played by humans and emotion is part of what makes a human. They criticize athletico's play acting but glorify Man city's tactical fouls.
Salah dives all the time, but he is a Liverpool's player (Steve Nichols darling), Pep's all conquering Barca team dives all the time but there are considered one of the greatest team ever.
Bayern's model depends on strengthening their team by weakening their competitors. Yes, they are not breaking any rules. But our pundits don't find that boring.
Football is a sport and the ultimate goal is to win. Everything else done while trying to win (so long its within the law) should be acceptable.
The pundits should speak for themselves and not say "that's not what neutrals want to watch".

I don't think the style of play matters to Simeone
At elite level, it's all about the W, of course everyone would rather see their team play sexy football with loads of goals and flashy skill moves, but what is key is the team collective effort to get the win, and you can't criticise a manager who gets results, look at juve for example, they were so dominant in seria A for a whole decade playing not attractive but solid football with defensive discipline the benchmark for conte and later on allegri, they got fed up with that, let go of allegri and tried to transition to "the modern way of playing" and look at how much trouble it's gotten them in
This is just my opinion – I hate watching Gengen pressing (smothering the opponent). It's like watching Khabib fight in UFC just pinning his opponent down all the time.
These tactics work impressively well but for me I don't enjoy it to watch. It's more enjoyable to watch an open game/fight.
