ESPN FC’s Alejandro Moreno gives his opinion on Atletico Madrid’s win vs. Liverpool on Tuesday, saying that despite Diego Simeone’s ability to rally his squad to victory, he doesn’t think Atletico Madrid have the confidence or ability to hang on to a 1-0 lead at Anfield for Leg two.

Moreno makes some contradictory statements. He says that Atletico doesn't know what their identity is and after that he says that their played the game with their own style. So, having identity and "own style" are very interconnected, i.e., if you don't have an identity you can't play with your style. Vice versa is true as well. I don't like (and it is very disrespectful against Spanish clubs) that English media either explicitly or implicitly misrepresent both La Liga or Spanish clubs. They are (English media) always throw trash to La Liga in order to enlarge Premier League's value. I believe that it is very sneaky way to prevent (or to PR) your league.

I have no problem with atletico playing defensive football. What annoyed me was them falling down on every touch and refree buying it.
Winning at Anfield it's not easy. A very difficult stadium to play in and everyone fears that. I do believe that Liverpool will go through but at the end of the day, may the best team win.

Morata hate on ESPN is non-stop. Finishing is not his best skill but he gives Atleti so much when he plays (areal threat, holds the ball well, is fast and strong, defends and pressures well, etc.)
This Atleti win shows the quality and competitiveness of the La liga, despite their average performance in the league this season, defensively outclassed the unbeaten Liverpool in the continuously one sided premier league
