Bit over the top mate..I don't know many lads without a scar on their nut from their youth.. but nobody dies of just a cut head..I had over 100 stitches in head face in one incident an fractured skull but never said I nearly died
My brother did a similar thing on a stadium tour of Ibrox 40 years ago on the all standing terraces. They had those railings dotted all over the terraces at the time which were a perfect height for my brother's blissfully unaware nose. He ran right into one and made a hell of a mess.

hi thogden i feel ur pain mate as i am an Aberdeen supporter and we played Atletico Madrid in spain and we were targeted by thug supporters of madrid and even kids were being attacked and females were attacked 1 lassie even got raped it was horrible and the police even targeted us as well with shooting tear gas in the bars we were in it was a horrible couple of nites
Of the top of my head i can remember 3 times i split my head open and i remember them all but i don't remember splitting my tongue right down the middle to the point my mum tells me when i spoke it was like a snake but i was 2 at that time

As a parent these moments are terrifying because it's completely outside of your control and but for the grace of God things could have been certainly in Thogs case (less so in mine) so different
